Deleted!

A couple of months ago - one Mr. Kewl, an acquaintance, sent me an SMS. On hindsight, it was probably one of those mass SMS that a person would send, like a happy new year sms or some sort like that. The SMS went some sort like this -

Mr. Kewl : Hey ... how's it going? Long time no hear ... it's been awhile ...

I was pretty surprised. I didn't realise he was one of those whom i would hear from. But anyways, fingerfries sent a reply a while later -

fingerfries : Hey, things are going well (*blah blah*)... How are you?

I never received a reply. That kinda irked me, cos unreplied questions in an SMS is a pet peeve of mine. I wondered what makes a mere acquaintance be keen to hear from me but when heard, not want to let me hear from him? Why would one want to send that general SMS anyways? Was it to solicit a response or a possible night out? Was it to confirm that one is still in the address books? Or to finish up unused phone credits and to keep one in the memory of others?
A few days ago, i received another SMS from Mr. Kewl -
Mr. Kewl : Hey How u doing? Long time no hear... time flies...
I am just dumbfounded. Delete. Delete.
