DVeight

I received a call from the hair salon that i have been frequenting since the beginning of the year. They informed me that the salon DVeight is no longer in operations. It's sad. Tragic even. Just when i found a stylist that i really like, I now can't go back to her anymore. And so now i need to search for a new place to go to. Any recommendations?

Technophobia?

I learnt a new word last night : luddite n. one who opposes technical or technological change.
A related word : technophobia : n. fear of or aversion to technology, especially computers and high technology
To a certain extent, these words sort of describe me. i am so not a techie and i have have not seen a need to embrace technological change unless really necessary. But it's now time to evolve and embrace change and step into the high tech world. It's my challenge. One step into this challenge is by starting this blog - I've learnt many things i never believed i could understand!
Another new word of the other extreme end of technology : technopheliac - A person who is constantly buying new technology (cell phones, mp3 players, etc) for the purpose of showing them off. A person that just "bleeds" technology. comes from technophile and hemopheliac. (source - urbandictionary.com)
Thanks CH for the vocab lesson and the bedtime stories. :)

Amazing Azzurri!

Its 7.30pm and I'm still standing. After only 2 hours of sleep last night.
It was the result of an event that happens once every 4 years. Last night was the night the World Cup 2006 final match was played which saw Italy's Amazing Azzurri win the World Cup after a penalty shootout against France.
I supported the Italian team. For sentimental reasons - i supported the Italian team the first year i started to follow the WC, for the fact that they turned out to be an excellent team this year, and mostly because the Azzurri have great hair and great tattoos.
The heated drama-filled match which started at 2am ended at close to 5am. We watched it at Slippery Senorita (again) where a table was booked a week ago. And having a full day at work today, I have survived the day with endless cups of coffee and doing brainless work.
And with the end of the WC, I feel a sense of emptiness... we are left wondering what do we do now when we hang out. What were our nights before the WC? What will we talk about during our lunch breaks? When will I take my huge WC chart off my office wall?

A sprinke of jerks

Don't you just wonder why we meet them, love them, hate them and can't get rid of them?? Heh! Now you know...

Another funny one from Larson
